Learning Patience

I have discoverd in the last week that I am not a very patient person on some things. I alwasy thought that I was but am quickly finding out that I was wrong!! As you know Paul and I are townhouse hunting right now and all the ones that we have looked at from the outside have been pretty scummy looking and all the ones that we want to view on the inside have either sold or have firm offers put on them. There is a really great one that is in our area and it is within our price range and is 3 bdrm/3 bthrm about 1700 sq feet and I called our agent to see about a viewing and we found out that the owner died so it has been taken off the market. Zafer is going to call the agent to see about us putting in an offer condidtional to our viewing the place. I kind of hope this one works as it is really nice and in the right area for what we want.

I have called my agent about 5 different listings today alone to see about a walk through and 4 of the 5 are already sold. I am trying really hard not to get frustrated.

Oh well, please keep us in your prayers.

House Hunting

Well I was able to get out and start looking at houses today, kind if exciting. Garth and Mary came with me to do "drive by's" of some places. The first one that we looked at was in Walnut Grove and looked pretty good from the outside and was really close to everything. There wasn't really any parking though. The price was within our range as well.

We then went to look at 5 others that we had listed in our range and as we drove past most of them they were quickly scratched off our list as I was scared being out in the parking lot during the day, I don't even want to imagine the night!! There was one that we looked at and I could literally jump the fence and walk to work. I don't think I want to live there as again I know what it is like there during the day, although I know a lot of the drug dealers and homeless people around that area from work!

We have asked our agent to set up an appointment with one of the places that was okay just to see the inside and start getting some ideas. The one that I really liked in Walnut Grove has a firm offer on it so that one is out unless the financing falls through. Oh well, this is just the start of it...

We are looking forward to getting away at the end of February with Garth and Mary - providing her and I get the time off to go! It will be nice to get away from work, the phone and everything else!

AHHH!

I think I must be PMSing today as I just blew up at my dad for absolutly no reason at all. He is coming in from Victoria to pick something up from a friends house and while he is here they are going to be visiting other people as well. I invited him and Heather to come over for a visit with me but dad saidno because of our cat (Heather has severe allergies to cats). I thought about it for a bit and then got really upset because the other people they are going to see have 2 cats. I then phoned him (while upset, bad move!) and yelled at him and wanted to know why they didn't want to come over to our house. He explained things but it still does not make sense to me but I don't want to be mad at him any longer as I don't see him much anymore. Oh well...

Also I am feeling excited and scared at the same time as we went into the bank last night to get pre-approved for a mortgage and found out that we qualified for a whole lot more than we thought! We decided to go much, much lower as the payments for the higher amount would have left us with about $3.00 for gas and groceries. After we left the bank I called my mom and told her the good news and talked to her boyfriend who is a realitor and when I arrived at work today there was already listings on my fax machine!

It then kicked in that this is really going to happen for us so if you could please pray for us during this time that we don't get super stressed out andto scared to move on anything.

People are sweet

Wow, it is alwasy a surpise when someone does something nice for you. I just went to our other office across the way to pick up the mail and Kristine the Program Assistant for one of our other programs surprised me with my own personal mini carrot cake. She said that she was baking on Tuesday and thought of me and decided to do this.

What a day!

Well what a day and it is only 9:45am. The morning started by Paul having to drive me to work as we have an appointment at 5:00 tonight and this was easier. When we got into his car it was really damp on the inside - what else is new somthing is up with our cars! When I got to work we found out that who are new supervisor for our program is going to be - she is kind of getting placed here but my team is really great so we will have to make the best of it. The other thing that happened was our Manager is getting a new assistant and they are going to be sharing my office space - it's a good thing I watched Seasme Street growing up and a caught the episodes on sharing and cooperation! I have actually met the person and they are really nice and it should work out (I hope).

Paul and I have our appointment with the bank tonight to see about getting approved for a mortgage! This has been a long time coming and finally everything has fallen into place and we have the downpayment (through generous contributions from family members) and Paul's RRSP's. We are also going to see about adding a car loan to all of this as one of us needs to have a reliable car.

Will update with the results of the appointment as soon as we know anything.

Getting Started

Hello,

This is my first time writing on this blog and I am not sure if I will ever use it again. A few of my friends have thier own blog's so I though that I would try it out to see what it's like. I am at work right now but am procrastinating on the work that I have to do. Oh well, I have to get back to work as my supervisor is coming up to my desk.

Till next time...
