What a weekend!

Well it was an interesting weekend.

Firday after work I went and looked at 2 townhouses in Surrey, I met my mom and Zafer there and we went and toured the first one - it was beautiful but outside our price range by about $30,000. It was big enough but there was not a lot of cupboard space and the master bedroom was a touch on the small side. The second one that we looked at you could not pay me to live there. The idea for us to get our own place is to not have anyone above or below me and at this one there was another unit just below us and it was a really weird layout! We then went out for dinner after this. I then went home and crashed I was so tired.

Saturday morning I woke up at around 9:00am and discovered that there was no power as a major storm blew through during the night. The people upstairs had asked me to keep and ear out for the kids as Jaime was out of town and Karim had to work. At about 11:00 the kids called me and asked me to hang out with them upstairs where it was light and warm. We then went out for lunch and they worked on homework all afternoon and I tried to read by candlelight (not a easy as it sounds!) They then asked me if I wanted to go to the Monster Truck Show with them that night, off we went - it was much better than hanging around a dark cold house. The power of course came on just as we were leaving for the night (about 6:30).

The next day we had another appointment to view a place and Paul was able to come this time. It was alright but not what I wanted. I was kind of upset with my mom as she was trying really hard to push us into making an offer on it and then put about 10,000 into renovations and new appliances for it. Paul and I said no as the area was not one that we want to live in!!! We then went out to the Oswalds were their other friends came by and we played Pictonary and Hoopla a fun evening had by all.

(((hugs))) the place is out there. Don't jump too quick. You know, you are probably in the best setup for looking, since you don't have to be out of your place at any set time (right?) I wouldn't want you to have buyers remorse! I know it's a tough decision, big money too...I get stressed when buying PANTS, let alone a house!
