Moved In

Well we have finally moved into our new place. We packed the last of it all up on Wednesday and Mary came over for the whole day and helped clean the house and keep moral up as Paul and I don't always work well togethor!! She was amazing and worked so hard so thanks again Mary. I was doing really well until our landlday/friend Jaime came down to see how things were and she started crying, that made me start as well. The whole family has been amazing to us during the 5 years that we lived there and I am really going to miss seeing them every day.

We woke up early on Thursday morning and Mary came back over to be with us and brought coffee and donuts for us and then the movers showed up at 10:00am. They worked super hard and we finally left our old house at about 1:45 and started moving into the new place shortly after that. It was a bit of a scramble as we had the cable guy coming over at 6:00 and the tv and computer had to both be set up by the time he got there. We got it done and then Garth has hooked our computer so it can be wireless and I can still have it downstairs. We then had to move a couple of wall units and bookshelves as they did not look as good as where we originally had them in mind. All in all we got a lot unpack with all the help that we had and we are probably about 80% unpacked and we have been in for 3 days.

Paul goes back to work tomorrow and I am a bit nervous about spending the night here by myself as it will be the first time on my own completely with nobody above me. I know I will be fine but it will still be a bit wierd.

We are going to be planning a housewarming/openhouse for sometime next month after my dad's wedding so that should keep me busy for a while.

Less than a week to go and stressed!!

Well we are officially less than a week away from moving in. In fact we move in 3 days time and I am a bit stressed, so the doctor said. As we were on our way to the hockey game with Garth and Mary, she asked me what was wrong with my eye, not knowing what she meant I looked into the mirror and discovered that I had a red line and my eye looked a bit bloodshot. Not thinking much about it I left it alone. I woke up on Saturday morning and the spot was a bit bigger and much more noticable, but still no loss of vision or soreness. During the day it got progressivly worse looking and bigger still. That night Paul and Jaime (our landlord) were considering taking me to Emergency as it took up most of the bottom of the white of my eye. I called the nurses hotline and they said that it was just a broken blood vessel and that it was not serious but to get it checked out on Sunday if it was still there. I went to the clinic and saw a doctor who said that it was most likely stress related as I had not been hit in the face or head and that the blood will re-absorb itself and that it is similar to a bruise. I have to watch it closly incase there is pain or it goes into the colored part of my eye. I am pretty self consious of it now because about 3/4 of my eye is bright red. I was also told not to bend or lift anything as that will cause pressure on my eye and could make it worse.

This of course is the worst time for this to happen as we are moving. I feel really bad as this puts a lot more pressure on Paul and I hate not being able to do stuff. I am guessing that this is God's way of telling me to relax and take it easy for a while and that I have been going and doing too much.

I hate packing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For all of you that have moved you know what I mean. It is so depressing and stressful. Just the other day I went to make nachos and bought everything and got it all home and then realized that I had packed my grater. I was lucky the the Karims were home and I was able to borrow thiers. They have been wonderful to us over the past 5 years and we are really going to miss living with them and the kids, but we will still see each other all the time as the kids are planning on spending weekends with us!!

Our phone, hydro and cable are all ready to be hooked up and Paul is happy as he is going to be getting digital cable and internet all in one. I am pretty happy about the internet as well and the digital cable should be fun but it is really just another remote that I have to learn to use!

Paul and Karim took a big load of junk to the dump last week, which cleared out alot of space outsite and I managed to sell our washing machine to a lady at my mom's office. I had to take a major loss but at this point I just wanted to get rid of it. We are also getting rid out our dryer and they are coming to take it away on our next garbage day. Other than that we have a few last boxes to do and my mom is coming over tonight to help me with that as we are busy all weekend.

Oh I also forgot to mention that our cars our money sucking black holes!!! It is crazy they alwasy seem to know when we have money or when it is a 3 paycheck month. Last Friday Paul noticed that his car was leaking anti-freeze so we took it up to the mechanic on Saturday morning thinking it was going to be a cheap repair, but nooooo it was the head gasket this time and a nice bill of approximatly $1000,00 to fix. It actually could not have come at a better time for us as Jaime and Karim have told us not to pay rent this month that they will just keep our damage deposit so we actually have the money to do this right now. The sucky part is that I have been without a car since Sunday as Paul had to take mine to work. Our landlord has been driving me in the morning nad may mom has picked me up after work.

Oh well....till next time.

Glad February is over!

I am glad that February is over as it was quite the month for us! Let's see, we bought a townhouse, started packing up and am currently living in the land of boxes, attended a wedding, and went on a holiday. All very fun and exciting. Paul's shift at work has also changed so he is home again on weekends.

The wedding was great, it was for our friends Colin and Melissa and they both looked great (apparently good looking enought for the paparazzi to show up!!) The photographers were crazy, right in there faces taking picuters of the whole thing and it was causing quite a stir in the congregation - people really trying not to laugh out loud at it. I am quite sure that they will have some amazing pictures to remember the day by. Our friends Garth and Mary with both in the wedding party and they both looked great as well. It was also nice to catch up with an old friend that I have not seen in years. After the bride and groom left we helped clean up and then went back to G & M's house and hung out.

I had to work on the Monday and Tuesday morning but then it was off to Kamloops for 4 fun filled hockey days. Our first night there we went to a Blazers game, the second day we watched the Canada Russia game and went to the Keg for dinner to have dinner served by the Blazers (it was a fundraiser) and on our last night we went to another Blazers game. At our hotel there were lots of different animals (horses, cats, dogs, and a goat) so I was in heaven. We drove up to Sun Peaks on Thursday and Garth really wanted to go skiing but decided not to. We left early Saturday morning to head back home as Paul had to go back to work at 1:30pm that afternoon. I got home and slept for a while and then spend the evening upstairs with our landlords.

This week has been good as it started off with the announcement of a new arrival in our friends family - they had a baby boy at 2:30 Monday afternoon so I drove out to Langley to see little Mason. He is beautiful and was just 3 hours old when I held him. I could definatly hear the clock ticking a little louder after holding him!!

Tuesday evening I had a dress fitting for the outfit I am having made for my dad's wedding in April. It is a pant suit in a really nice blue linen fabric. It looks really good and should be ready the next time I go to see the seamstress and it is a really good price for a custom made outfit.

My mom came over and helped pack and clean last night and we have more of the same to look forward to tonight and tomorrow and the next night and well you get it!
