Summer, I can't believe it's almost over!

The past couple of weeks have passed in a complete blur. I can't wait until October when life will slow a bit for us. Yes that's right I said October. It has been a great summer and very full of events and family and friends and great weather as well.

C and her mom and son came by for a really quick visit and tour of our new place - even though they could not stay long it was still great to see them. We then went to the PNE on August 20 and Paul and I had a blast. We saw all the shows - Super Dogs, High Dive, Motor Cross, and many others including the last show of the evening called Rollin Thunder in which a friend of ours is performing and that friend was none other than Brian Palmquist. He comes out and makes a couple of cuts in a log with his chainsaw and then he is in the finale bit as well. It was great to see him and we met up with him after the show for a few minutes as well. He was quite shocked to see us - it was great!!

The following week was busy at work for me, I did not take my lunch at all that week and I ended up bringing work home with me as well. All in all I think I did about 5 hours of overtime last week. Oh well, it just means that I get to leave early a couple of days in the next few weeks. On the weekend I attended a family reunion on my mom's side of the family. That was great fun as I have not seen a lot of my cousins for a few years. They were all shocked to learn that thier baby cousin was going to be 30 next year! We decided that we were going to do another reunion in July next year and do a combo 30th for me and a 40th for my other cousins husband. That should be lots of fun. The next few weeks are going to be incredilby busy as well, here is just a taste of what it is going to be like for us:
September 1 - wedding #5 and Paul is in the wedding party this time
September 2-4 - on Vancouver Island visiting dad and Heather
September 8 - 10 - Looking after old landlords kids for the weekend as they are out of town
September 10 - Paul playing at the Vibe Service
September 15 - Tammi getting tatoo?
September 16 - Pauls friend in from out of town - BBQ
September 25 - October 9 - Pauls Aunt and Uncle in from England for 2 weeks - I am already getting nervous but really looking forward to seeing them

Fun with Friends

This past weekend was great and extremely busy at the same time. We attended a good friends wedding on Saturday and it was a wonderful ceremony and a great party afterwards. It was nice to see people that we had not seen in a while, especially the out of towners!! We stayed way to late and were quite tired the next day. We had some excitement early Sunday though - my friend B and I were headed out to the gift opening when she started to feel terrible and it ended with a 4 hour stay at emergency at Peace Arch hospital. They ran tests and they all came back fine and we were able to leave. It was really scary though, especially when you watch your friend get loaded into an ambulance. I only had 1 small breakdown and then was fine. I took her out to her dad's house (we missed the gift opening, arrived just as S & L were loading gifts into thier truck) and then I headed back to Delta were our friends parents were hosting a BBQ for a bunch of us. It was really great to see everyone and to spend time getting to know the kids and just to catch up. I was hard to get to talk to everyone as there were lots of people there. We did a group photo which was fun, the last time we did this was at P and mine wedding 8 years ago. I think I might print it out and frame it.

Monday night we went our for dinner with our old landlords for the oldest son's 14th birthday - it was great we totally surprised him and we had a great time with them and made plans to get together again soon.

Tuesday night we went out for dinner with R & K and their youngest and K and I had "fluffy" drinks - it was wonderful to spend time with them. After dinner the boys went back to our place and played PS2 and the girls went shopping. It was great fun and K found some bedding for the girls that she was looking for and at a really great price! We then went back to our place and did the tour and then K and I chatted and looked at paint colors! Now I only have to convince Paul that paint is good and that the walls are boring without it!!! I think I am up for the challenge! I am really going to miss everyone that was in town for then wedding and I thing P and I might have to do a road trip next year and hit Calgary and Saskatchewan as our destinations.

Glad to be back!

We arrived home from camp on Monday August 7th after spending 10 wonderful days at Camp Artaban! We had wonderful weather the whole time we were there and the only rain that we did have happened on the first night in the middle of the night. Paul and I have been doing this camp for 12 years and this was by far the most relaxed we have ever seen it. The staff was great and really pulled togethor and bonded and the kids were great as well. Most of them were repeat campers to Fine Arts. My friend Breanne managed to come up for a couple of days and hang out with us. It was wonderful to see her and catch up. We had a couple of fun days as well - we did a beach party, Christmas in July complete with gifts and a turkey dinner and a movie/sleepout in the back ball field. I will try to post some pictures when I have a spare moment.
